Voluntary Product Correction for Mito Red Commercial Panels purchased before May 2025

Updated:10/29/2025

This is a public notice about a Voluntary Product Correction affecting a limited number of Mito Red Commercial Elite and Premiere panels purchased before May 2025. We’ve identified a functional issue where the near-infrared (NIR) lights may remain on after a session ends. There is no known safety hazard, but we want to proactively correct impacted units to ensure optimal performance.

Technical Description of the Issue

All Mito Red Light commercial panels sold between late 2023 and May 2025 were manufactured with a specific control board design. In a small number of cases (approximately 5 out of 200 panels, or about 3%), this control board has failed, causing the Near-Infrared (NIR) light to remain on even after the user believes the session has ended.

Because NIR light is invisible to the human eye and the cooling fans shut off at the end of each session, the user may not realize the panel is still running. When this occurs, the panel face remains warm and the device continues to draw approximately 800 watts of power continuously — roughly equivalent to leaving a space heater on 24 hours a day.

Although the temperature stabilizes and there is no fire or thermal risk, this condition is an unacceptable deviation from normal operation. Continuous operation not only drastically increases electricity consumption and cost, but also causes internal components to wear down much faster, dramatically shortening the lifespan of the device.

Out of an abundance of caution and commitment to quality, Mito Red Light is conducting a voluntary recall and repair program. We will repair or replace the affected control boards, or in certain cases, replace the entire panel with an upgraded UL-certified model at no cost to you. These upgraded panels feature improved component durability, energy efficiency, and extended lifespan.

Panels manufactured after May 2025 include a revised control board design and are not affected by this issue.

If you think that your device is affected, please call or email us at sales@mitoredforbusiness.com (833) 477-6758. We will have you email us a picture of your control screen so we can confirm that you have one of these affected devices.

Next steps once we confirm your unit

  • If yes, we’ll schedule your no-cost correction (which may be a repair, replacement, or swap to a new unit).
  • We’ll coordinate timing and, if applicable, removal/disposal of the old unit.
  • You’ll receive a confirmation with your scheduled date and what to expect on the day.
